Create A Prayer Habit

The Bible instructs us: When someone gives you a hard time, respond with the energies of prayer. Matthew 5:44 MSG

Why does the Bible tell us to pray about our challenging relationships? What difference can prayer make to a relationship that is out of sync? When we turn to prayer, we allow God to enter into the brokenness and bring healing.

1 Corinthians 13:4 says: Love…does not boast.

Today, pray for a relationship which is being spoiled by boasting or bragging.

Boasting or bragging is something we often notice and find objectionable in other people. It’s not so easy to see in ourselves. There’s also a fine line between excessive self-satisfaction and a healthy sense of pride.

Lord God, I pray for my relationship with _______________________.

Lord, this is where it has gone wrong: ________________________. Help me to understand ________________________.

Give me wisdom to see when I am making too much of myself about  __________________ and not enough about you. Lord, forgive me for ______________. Help me to _____________________.

Finish with these words:
I know what it is to be in need and what it is to have more than enough. I have learned this secret, so that anywhere, at any time, I am content, whether I am full or hungry, whether I have too much or too little. Philippians 4:12 (GNT)
