There is no doubt that we can, and do, wobble in our faith. And it’s clear from many of the Bible stories that we are not alone in our wavering.
Think of Moses who questioned God when he was asked to lead the Israelites and confront Pharaoh, even though God assured him through specific signs that he would be with Moses.
Then there is Sarah who couldn’t quite believe that God could give her a child in her old age.
But both Moses and Sarah were commended for their faithfulness.
By faith he [Moses] left Egypt, not fearing the king’s anger; he persevered because he saw him who is invisible (Hebrews 11:27).
And by faith even Sarah, who was past childbearing age, was enabled to bear children because she[b] considered him faithful who had made the promise (Hebrews 11:11).
These people and many others were praised for their faith because God is faithful in his graciousness. It’s the same for us too.
Are you ready to pray over the next few days and ask for stronger faith? Let’s get started.
Like the Psalmist, make this verse your prayer:
Lord, so many times I fail; I fall into disgrace. But when I trust in you, I have a strong and glorious presence protecting and anointing me. Forever you’re all I need!Psalm 73:26 TPT
Lord God, I know I often fail in my faithfulness to you. I question what you want me to do. I doubt your goodness when bad things happen. I chose not to fully trust you and go my own way because I think I know better. But, today, I will praise you because you are strong and powerful, always protecting me and blessing me throughout my day. I worship you because you never fail.
What do you believe God is asking you to do? Ask him to meet your needs.
Heavenly Father, today I need you to (choose one or all three)
