To see the Master of the Details
Today, step away from the big, overwhelming “how,” “what,” and “why” of life to admire the intricate, intentional beauty of the details. We worship a God who is just as attentive to the unseen atom as he is to the extensive galaxies.
And even the very hairs of your head are all numbered. Matthew 10:30
Pray
Lord, I praise you today as the Master of the details. I am often overwhelmed and inundated by the scale of everything that is happening in my life, but you are never surprised or overcome.
I am in awe of the precision of your care in the minutest detail—that you created the delicate parts of a flower, that you know the number of hairs on my head, and that you attend to the microscopic needs of my life with the same attention that you created the wildflowers on mountains and the swirling colored gases of distant stars.
Forgive me for thinking any part of my day or life is too small for your notice.
Today, I rest in your infinite attention. I thank you that because you oversee the details of the universe, I can trust you with the most trifling facts and fiction of my moments. You are Master over all the details. Amen.
Practice
This week, notice the micro-awe. Pick up a stone, a leaf, or a piece of fruit. Study the textures, the veins, or the colors for sixty seconds. Remind yourself: The One who designed this, designs the details of my day.

What an excellent reminder! I sat on my porch drinking coffee this morning listening to the birds and enjoying the scenery. All of these were spoken into existence through unimaginable power. The same One who made these is ever near in my circumstances. He watches, directs and comforts me.
