What thought comes to mind when you see a palm tree?
When I lived in England, palm trees conjured up the hope of exotic locations and summer vacations. They meant the guarantee of soaking in constant sunshine, instead of being soaked by the relentless rain of a so-called English summer.
A palm branch reminds me of Easter, Jesus’ entry into Jerusalem on a donkey, and the victory he has over death.
Today though, a palm tree reminds me of my daughter and to pray for her. In July she moved thousands of miles from home to Santa Monica in California to start her first job.
Santa Monica is full of palm trees, like it’s neighbor Los Angeles. Most of us have seen LA’s iconic palms standing tall against blue skies as they line the boulevards of Hollywood.
My daughter is living in an exotic location I only dreamed of. Yet, when dreams become reality they require prayer.
Do you have a tree or a plant species that reminds you to pray for someone you love?

Palm trees relax me, because it means I am near the beach. I love to see them blow in the breeze!
How nice that palm trees relax you, Sarah. It’s good to relax.
So blessed to be neighbors today at Holley’s – I haven’t visited in an age and it’s good to see you and share a cuppa!
Thanks for popping over, Susan. I will be a good neighbor, too, and come and visit.
