With technology such as the James Webb Telescope, scientists are discovering more about the universe than ever before. The telescope is giving images of star formation taking place 1,350 light-years from Earth, and challenging scientists’ knowledge and what they believed to be true.
1,350 light-years is a long way! The universe, scientists suggest, could be endless.
God’s power to create such a universe is mind-boggling. God’s love which is likened to the universe, stretching on for infinitum, seems beyond our understanding.

As human beings on our planet called Earth, we are minuscule compared to the billions of planets, stars, and galaxies that spin around us stretching for years and years into the darkness above our heads.
Yet, God’s expansive and never-ending love is pinpointed at you and me.
Real love isn’t our love for God, but his love for us. 1 John 4:10 CEV
If we had the ability to travel to the Orion Nebula, the star formation scientists have been studying 1,350 light-years away, maybe we would get an idea about God’s constant, immeasurable love for us.
But hopefully, without space travel, we can comprehend God’s love for us because although it is infinite, it is specific. It is abundant enough to deal with every experience we face and endless enough to last through every time we are in trouble.
God’s love is consistent throughout the good, bad, and mundane. God’s love is constant throughout the ups and downs of life. God’s love is strong enough to deal with our doubt, deception, anger, disappointment, rejection of him, and much more.
Here’s what the Bible says about God’s love.
“I’ve never quit loving you and never will. Expect love, love, and more love! Jeremiah 31:3 MSG
Love is a fundamental part of God’s being. More than that, God is love.
“I’m not going to allow myself to be hurt anymore,” we say. And so we turn our backs on someone we have loved. “I no longer love him/her” is a common phrase we hear or have said.
We replace our love with anger, loathing, spite, and scorn. God however cannot and does not do this—because he is love!
Love is firmly established within God’s character.
Whatever you do, say, or think, God does not stop loving you. Never ever.
When bad things happen in our lives, we can question God’s love for us. Although we may not understand what is happening, God does not stop loving us.
When we turn our backs on God and walk away from him, he is still waiting to pour out his love on us.
When we reject God, he is still loving us.
When we follow God and try, in our own inadequate ways, to please him, he loves us.
When we decide to worship him even though our lives are full of worries and struggles, and we don’t know what the future holds, God loves us.
If we want to know true love, we have to know God.
Use this prayer to praise God for his never-ending, abundant, and faithful love.
