Sometimes, life is overwhelming. We can feel like we’re constantly fighting battles, both big and small. We may feel like we’re always on the go, with never a moment to rest. Or we may feel ill-equipped and poorly organized for the tasks ahead of us.
If you are feeling this way, you are not alone. God knows exactly what you are going through, and he is with you every step of the way.
The Bible tells us
“The Lord will fight for you; you need only to be still.”
Exodus 14:14
This verse is a reminder that we don’t have to fight our battles alone. God is with us, and He will fight for us.
When you are feeling overwhelmed, the best thing you can do is to stop for a moment and be reminded to trust in God. He knows what is best for you, and he will see you through whatever you are facing.
Don’t give up. Don’t lose hope. God is with you, he will fight for you, and his purposes for you are good. This knowledge shouldn’t reduce us to inaction. Instead, it helps us know we can find peace instead of feeling frantic and we can trust in God instead of feeling like we have to do it all.
Here are five practical ways to apply this verse to your life:
- When you are feeling overwhelmed, take a few deep breaths and remind yourself that God is with you.
- Pray and ask God to help you to trust in Him and to be still.
- Focus on Bible verses (you’ll find a few below) that remind you that God is:
the dispeller of fear.
the comforter when we are afraid.
the deliverer from distress.
the provider when we are depleted. - Ask a friend to pray for you.Â
- Take care of yourself physically and emotionally. Make sure you are getting enough sleep, eating healthy foods, and exercising regularly.
The Lord is for me, so I will have no fear.Â
Psalm 118:6
He makes me lie down in green pastures, he leads me beside quiet waters, he refreshes my soul.
Psalm 23:2-3
You revive my drooping head; my cup brims with blessing.
Psalm 23:5 MSG
Remember, God is with you, and he will fight for you. You just need to be still and trust in him.
Use this prayer as a source of comfort and strength for you during difficult times.
Thanks for the prayers which you have very graciously penned for us. May our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ bless your work
