The Awe-Filled Life: God’s Constant Love

God's Constant Love

The Invitation

This week, we step off the exhausting treadmill of performance. In a world where human affection can fluctuate based on our success, our mood, or our behavior, we turn our gaze to a love that remains entirely constant.

I have loved you with an everlasting love; I have drawn you with unfailing kindness (Jeremiah 31:3).

Pray

Lord, I praise you today because your love for me is unchanging. I spend so much of my time trying to measure up, trying to keep everyone happy, and fearing that if I fail, I will no longer be accepted. But I stand in awe of your everlasting compassion. You loved me before I ever knew you, and you love me still on the days I get everything wrong.

Forgive me for treating your grace like a transaction. Today, I rest in the immense relief that your heart toward me is completely faithful. I don’t have to perform for you, I don’t have to prove myself to you, and I cannot make you love me any less than you do at this very moment. Thank you. Amen.

Practice

This week, notice the Constant Love – Awe. Think of something you did this week that felt like a mistake or a failure. Picture yourself handing it to God, and then listen to his unchanging declaration over you: “You are still mine, and I am still here.”

A Blessing

May you walk this week in the unshakeable confidence that you are completely, and utterly loved, right where you are and as you are.
