We know the importance and value of prayer. As James 5:16 (NIRV) says: The prayer of a godly person is powerful. Things happen because of it.
Sometimes, though, we need a little help to find a routine and pray consistently — to make prayer a habit. I want to help you get intentional in your prayer life.
Each day I will provide you with an opportunity to practice prayer — to help you pray naturally. These will be simple, biblically-based prayer prompts with fill-in-the-blanks that you can personalize for yourself and your life.
Here is today’s prayer prompt:
Jesus began His ministry announcing the Kingdom of God had come to earth. And, He encouraged us to pray to God saying “Your kingdom come, Your will be done.”
In this next set of guided prayer prompts we are going to be praying for God’s might and power to break into specific areas and situations of our lives, and for God’s will to be done.
Use the following prayer prompt to spend a few minutes with your heavenly Father asking for His power to be displayed in your life and your world.
Today, pray for the frustration you feel in your work, whether it’s outside the home or in the home, paid or voluntary. Pray that you will know and experience God’s deep pleasure for what you do and in what you do.
Use these words:
Lord God, by the power of Your Holy Spirit and through the authority of Your Son, Jesus Christ, I need Your kingdom to break into my frustration with _____________________________ and replace it with knowing you are deeply pleased with what I do, and so I can feel pleasure in my work.
This is your Father you are dealing with, and he knows better than you what you need. With a God like this loving you, you can pray very simply. Like this: Our Father in heaven, reveal who You are. Set the world right. (Matthew 6:8-10 MSG)
